It is probably the cultivar of Alocasia macrorrhiza 'New Guinea Gold'
seems to be traded under several new names recently .
'Seven Colours' from Thailand is being used for selling it at a
higher price with its mid-summer flush of extra colourful foliage !!

Interesting about the 'Seven Colors' as my friend said that was the
closest she could find that matched her plants description...so they
are one and the same....hmmmm.
