I really enjoy eating the fruit of the aptly named Monstera deliciosa, and
it was not uncommon to have several fruits sitting in jars in my mothers
kitchen, all covered in paper-bags [to keep the fruit-fly of].
At least one fruit every season was full of seed , the record was over 50
seed in 1 fruit !
Sometimes there was only a few , we always planted the seed ,and after
sprouting gave them away to visitors.
The fruit is ready to pick when it droops from the upright position to
horizontal, if you are very vigilante , wait until the first few scales pop
of and the fruit is much sweeter.
It takes 1 year from flowering to ripening .
