Need help with a problem growing A. salgarense

Good morning all, 

I purchased an A. salgarense and it looked like a great plant.  It needed to be repotted, and I did so, but the center of the plant rotted.  It still has 2 outer leaves (they are hanging on but not thrilled) and I want to save the plant!!!  I removed the rotten portion (there was some mold) and sprayed it with a neem oil solution.  Please help me save this!  Thank you for any suggestions, I appreciate it.  It is in a well drained mix now, but it is a dirty mix as opposed to a coir based mix which I also have.  THANKS!!!
