Yes, provided that are not in the same kingdom. So, you can have animals and
plants and fungi sharing the name. Araceae has an example Hapale (a syn of
Hapaline) and also a genus of marmoset.

Subject: [Aroid-l] Dracunculus and Dracunculus

Hello,

While searching the web for documents I found something that made me scared.

Besides Dracunculus vulgaris and Dracunculus canariense, which we almost all
heard about,

I found a document mentioning different species of Dracunculus which are...
Nematodes:

http://www.cartercenter.org/documents/2147.pdf

Is it admissible for two quite different unrelated taxa to bear the same
generic name?

???

Marek

In the quest of my ever learning...we've some Calocasia 'Black Magic' to the nursery I am employed at which are flowering......Bright yellow beautiful spadex's........that NEVER open....I'm starting to think that they aren't going to look like my mental expectation of a Zantedeschia floresence but do they ever open further than just a tight bud???
