Last year I purchased a Spathiphyllum -- I think it is the straight species, S. wallisii. It was in bloom at the time, with multiple small inflorescences. Well, its blooming season ended, and I grew it through the ensuing year, during which time I had to repot it to a larger pot, and it produced four offsets, which I separated out (two survived). As the flowering season for this year approached, I wanted to encourage abundant blooming, so I began weekly applications of E. B. Stone Organics' Rose and Flower Food, administered with the weekly watering. Instead of abundant flowers, it produced a single, huge inflorescence, two or three times the size of the ones it had last year.
What did I do wrong here? I don't mind the one big inflorescence, but I had wanted the numerous smaller ones.
