Have you gone through the archives at Green Guerillas? Also, the periodicals 
section of the NY Public library should have the archives of local papers ( 
e.g., the East Village Other) as well. And while it is a few years back, it 
is possible that Manhattan Community Board 1 has some Liz Christy material in 
it's archives.

Also, the NY Public library at 42nd street keeps old telephone books. As I 
imagine that all of your original gardeners were local, if you can get their 
old addresses and numbers from there, you can begin an Internet search for 
them. Also, because of the AIDS epidemic, which ravaged the NYC gardening 
community after Liz Christy was established, you might want to do a search of 
NYC death records as well.
