Community Gardens Let You Dig in for Almost Nothing

Community gardens are signing up new gardeners or
adding names to waiting lists, according to Bill
Maynard, coordinator of the Sacramento Area Community
Garden Coalition. Why join a community garden? If your
yard is shaded and you can't grow vegetables or
flowers, rent a plot at a community garden. Apartment
and condominium dwellers can enjoy gardening with a
community garden plot. The information below was
provided by the Sacramento Area Community Garden
Coalition. The gardens listed have organized boards or
are run by a park district or agency. For more

Location: Fifth Street between L Street and Pole Line
Road Plots: 113 Annual fee: $52 (plus $11 for
non-Davis residents); $25 cleaning deposit, which is
