Thanks Bill for your great achievement getting the public service
announcements on the air! I just wanted to clarify the beta vs. VHS issue in
case anyone intends to run right out and start contacting stations or, like
you did, individually syndicated television shows (a great idea!). Sending
stations both format tapes is a courtesy to them, because often they will use
the VHS tape to view the spots first (with a VHS VCR right at their desk, for
example) and then later if they decide to air the PSA they can use the
broadcast quality betaSP master. BetaSP is still considered the industry
standard high quality format and is different from the old consumer "betamax"
tapes some of us used to have. I think it's important to sound media-savvy
when approaching the gatekeepers, so I thought I'd mention it. Just a little
techno-babble from the listserve's token tech nerd/garden enthusiast--me!
