Sonoma supports community garden with bond
Council OKs Bond property master plan

Sonoma, California, Index-Tribune

Monday, January 9, 2006

Even though nighttime activities, including movie
nights, and the use of fire during fire season have
been prohibited for the community garden, the Sonoma
City Council adopted the Bond property master plan on
Jan. 4.

The council and the Sonoma Ecology Center, who lease
the property from the city and run the garden, have
held many discussions about the necessary funding and
improvements to keep it up and running.

The council allocated $32,200 for operations and
capital improvements, as well as $20,000 for the
construction of an ADA-compliant pathway system and
another $6,000 for greenhouses.
