Specialty Crops/Small Farm Advisor in Santa Clara (headquarters), Santa Cruz
& San Benito Counties 
The University of CA seeks a career-track academic to develop and implement
an educational/applied research program to meet the needs of
growers/clientele groups involved in the small farm specialty crop
production of above counties. Improve farm sustainability in production
practices while maintaining or increasing ag productivity and/or economic
viability. 
Requires a minimum of a Master's Degree in Horticulture, Agriculture, Plant
Science, or closely related field with demonstrated knowledge of greenhouse
and ornamental/vegetable production. Coursework or experience in statistical
analysis, experimental design, pest/disease, soil, water and nutrient
management are desirable. Experience in conducting applied field research.
Ability to work with diverse audiences. 
Salary will be in the Cooperative Extension Assistant Rank ($38,400 -
$47,300), commensurate with applicable experience and professional
qualifications.
