My Urban Planning Graduate Project class just finished
research in May that talks about community gardening
as planning tool, and how it adds value to the
community.  There is a statistical analysis of
community gardens on property valuees.  It shows
statistically significant positive effects of
community gardens on property values.

It was effective in getting the support of planners at
the City of Milwaukee; thus, getting community gardens
as a permitted use into the zoning code.

There is also an extensive bibliography in back of the
document.
