they would cause serious problems that way; aren't the growing beds raised up or framed out???

Well! What a great group you are; thanks for all the helpful and informative
advice re mulching paths. The reason we had not tried wood chips is because
the City keeps threatening to till the entire garden and we thought the chips
would cause problems in breaking down, etc. if they were mixed in with the
soil. We will take all of your advice into consideration; thanks again.
