The day-long 8-hour theatrical pageant vists over 40 community gardens
throughout the Lower East Side. The pageant features giant puppets, musical
bands, spectacular costume garden characters, and performances of music,
dance, and poetry performed at gardens along the route.
Please let us know if you can volunteer for the pageant to help with a
puppet or as a parade marshal, and on-going workshops creating puppets and
costumes for the pageant.

EARTH CELEBRATIONS - 12 YEARS OF ENVIRONMENTAL ARTS PROGRAMMING
Earth Celebrations is a non-profit organization dedicated to fostering
ecological awareness through the arts. Since 1991, Earth Celebrations has
been working to preserve the community gardens on the Lower East Side, and
throughout New York City through innovative arts projects, theatrical
pageants, performances, exhibitions, video programs, web-site, and art &
ecology workshops for children and adults through schools, community
centers, and gardens.
