The Scotswood Natural Community Garden has won another
award.
A green oasis in the heart of a North East inner city
has won another award. The Scotswood Natural Community
Garden attracts thousands of visitors every year. Now
the efforts of staff and volunteers there have been
rewarded for a second time in a month. Their efforts
have been acknowledged with a Green Penant award from
the Civic Trust. That prize comes hard on the heels of
first place in the community category of the
Northumberland Trust's recent Wildlife awardshttp:
(Note: Interesting approach, combining wildlife
habitat with community gardening, using 'Permaculture'
as an organizing principle. Take a look at
www.sncg.org.uk. -DB)
