To know Aresh & More Gardens! is to love them.
 
It is simply not a garden demonstration without him in his pea suit ( not a pea jacket - a costume suit that makes him look like a large smiling pea pod) and his cohort of garden activist folks in flower suits, banners, doing the grass roots work of  NYC garden political organizing.
 
These are no fading flowers either: the colors they wear don't fade, especially in the face of several police arrests and arraignments. A charming group of people, More Gardens! has a great deal of intestinal fortitude and staying power.
 
A key player in Earth Celebrations  for many years  http://www.earthcelebrations.com/ , Aresh was instrumental in the community garden referendum drive ( close to 25,000 signatures, unfortunately not enough to get the item on the ballot this year, but really impressive) and has been running this pre-election community garden caravan thorough all five boroughs.
 
We loved having him as an integral part of the Clinton Community Garden Parks 2001/Green Thumb Summer Solstice Celebration last June and the Parks 2001 Union Square rally on September 8th ( the Saturday before the WTC terrorist attack.) Their banners are the best, and their costumes draw smiles from the toughest cops and lift all of our hearts. Aresh is a great coalition member as well as a master puppeteer ( apologies to all, in advance,  whom in recent days have put a halo around Mr. Giuliani's head - Aresh's hilarious Rudy , the community garden hating puppet ,needs to be seen to be believed.)
