Adam,
These are my personal opinions:
Wow! and three cheers for your position re the "proper" role for prison 
gardens and, as a former union member of United Food and Commerciall Workers 
Union and an officer of  an AFSCME local of public employees of the City of 
Los Angeles, I couldn't agree with you more.
