Not a tale to tell, but I do get scale on a variety of houseplant ferns
e.g. Davalia, and I do sometimes chase away ants.  Aphids also feed ants,
and the sweet cherry and the roses always seem to get plenty.

I'd never heard of Potato Fern before.
