Re: fern cries

My understanding is that common bracken (Pteridium aquilinum) has necteries at the junction of the rachis and pinna but I cannot recall a species with them on the underside of the frond.

This kind of feature is normally intended to either attract bugs for
pollination, or trap them as a defensive measure, to prevent
consumption. I have never heard of a fern with this feature though?!?
Then again, I've never heard of this species either, so...

Presumably these are glandular hairs...many plants posess glandular
hairs. I cannot think of a fern sp. at the moment but I am sure there
are some with glandular hairs.
