i don't have the original discussion at hand, but... goldfish plant [alloplectus nummularia; syn hypocyrta nummularia] is a fairly close relative of the african violet and has similar requirements when grown indoors. mine is growing in a handing basket under the eave by the back door. outdoors, but close enough to the house to be protected from any wayward frost or chill. it blooms all year, i think--at least it seems to.

I know we discussed this plant earlier, but I deleted all the information about it. Anyway, last night I got one at our MG plant swap. Please tell me where, and under what conditions to plant it. I have looked in all the books I could find (I've got them all over the place), but I couldn't find anything on it. No botanical name was given on the marker in the pot. We're expecting Pam's heavy thunderstorms tonight, and, like Pam, I don't want any "twirlies" either! :-) Thanks, zem zone 7 West TN --------------------------------------------------------------------- To sign-off this list, send email to majordomo@hort.net with the message text UNSUBSCRIBE GARDENCHAT
