Noreen,
Did your friend at least have an Indian name for this shrub? You could google an Indian name easier than a description.

A friend from India gave me a plant this weekend. She didn't know the
botanical, nor the Eng. name for it. It is used in southern Indian
cooking.
It's a shrub, evergreen, thin stemmed, suckering, with alternate,
pinnate,
glossy med. green foliage. Her plant is not that old, so not sure if the
stems get thicker with age, but it appeared as if it spreads faster than
it
grows in height. Wonderful interesting aroma to the foliage
though...even
without crushing. Kind of a nutty aroma. Hard to describe.
Anyone have a clue what this might be????
Appreciate it,
Noreen
