My dove is a bad...

parent! Aren't momma birds supposed to sit on their eggs all the time? Our dove that I told you about keeps leaving the nest in my hanging basket. She left several times yesterday but always came back. Now today I haven't seen her at all. It hasn't been very warm so I'm concerned that the eggs are getting cold. Are mommas supposed to sit on the eggs all the time?
