I believe the drawback on the Prunus group or at least the Prunus mackii is 
the shallow root system.  The bark is so attractive.  The tree I am really 
coveting is Acer grisum.  I love that bark but I have reviewed, pondered, rewalked 
and walked the garden again and can not find space to plant this tree.
