Re: Money-Makin' Time!
Dan, When I first started doing this I used garden soil, but our soil around
here has a lot of clay and the soil would harden in the pot. So then I
started blending sand, peat, vermiculite, perlite, whatever I had, with the
garden soil. Then I started using packaged soil mixed with garden soil.
Then, a few years ago I ordered soil for raised beds and got too much, so I
blended it with packaged nursery mix. Last year when I ordered soil for a
new bed, I deleberately ordered a bit extra to used for my potting - still
blended with packaged nursery mix. I also add a 9 month time release
fertilizer with micronutrients to most of my pots.
