Pam, I could not live without a basement.  Our basement is a finished living 
area with a 5th bedroom, computer area, quilting cutting area on the pool 
table, sewing area, bathroom, washer/dryer/ironing and storage, storage, storage 
for all that good stuff you rarely use.  Also, my area for seed starting which 
is a 6 x 6 4 tiered lighted rack besides being a retreat when storms are 
brewing.
