Sue, I'd think you could grow one in a container.  In winter you'd have to
wrap the container very well to insulate it if you didn't bring it in.  Most
Big Leaf Hydrangeas get 4-5 ft high by same wide.  We get cuttings in 2 inch
containers and by the next year the roots are ready for a 2 gallon or
bigger.  That Brestenburg is lovely.
