Oh and Georgetown too! I had the best meal at a restaurant a few blocks from the metro stop there... hmmm. Although, I must say that Carmel, CA has amazing restaurants too. You are making me hungry!

That reminds me that I used to think everyone in the Midwest boiled everything and everyone in the South fried everything, and now I realized they both do both. That said, Ms Fatma swears the worst meal she has ever had--ever, as in her entire life--was at an Italian Restaurant here in Venice, Florida. She actually shudders when she talks about it. But, then, except for a couple of oyster bars, dining out in this part of Florida is universally terrible. Bethesda, Maryland, has more world class restaurants on any square block than there are on the coast of Florida from Apalachicola to Naples.

My BIL thinks my sister and I like strange stuff, but he likes sauerkraut,
so what does that say about him? He shudders when we reminisce of the
delights of oxtail soup and cringes when we eat corned beef hash (thinks it
looks like dog food). And he simply cannot understand the joy we have over
pot roast, when we mash the carrots and potatoes together into a delightful
blend (he calls it baby food) In fact he hated pork roast until I
pot-roasted a tenderloin roast for him. He thought pot-roasting was boiling
meat and that pork roast was the shoulder. Beyond that, I can't think of
any really strange things or ways I eat - except that I still eat my pudding
from the bottom of the spoon.

Ever wonder how Davy Crockett got that cap? Humans got to be worse scavengers than carrion crows. We eat some of the most god-awful stuff and brag about it as a local delicacy.
