Speaking of peonies, I have a tree peony that may be sending up suckers from the (herbaceous) roots. How can I tell (look at the leaf shape when they unfurl)? And what do I do about it - simply cut them off?

Hi Zem,
I'm here, but just haven't had much to say. Hope your peonies are coming
up. Mine are just at the little red nubbins sticking out of the ground
stage. I changed internet providers, and you might have fallen through the
crack.

Anybody heard from Rich lately? I just sent him an e-mail thanking him for
the awesome peonies he sent last fall, and it was returned as
'undeliverable.'
