I got the new plants purchased yesterday into the ground (including a really cute heather I bought this AM at the farmer's market). Mowed the lawn, pruned the lemon tree (this thing has the weirdest growth pattern). Then decided to tackle my "problem area" in the front near the sidewalk. I dug out the yellow iris (not sure what they are, but they get REALLY tall and spread like crazy). Decided just to toss them all in the garden waste bin. Moved a very sad looking ceanothus. Put down 3 more stepping stones (so now I can take the shortcut of stepping stones down to the mailbox, without stepping on wet grass). Put in a couple more short plants (a thrift, sweet violet, and another creeper). Then mulched! Looks much better! In fact, think I'll got take some pics to post to my yahoo site.
Then, put down the red plastic around the tomato plants and put in the tomato cages. I still have a few straggle snow peas, but they are fading fast with the warm weather.
Off to take pics!
Theresa
