The TN forestry group here gives away free trees all the time. Year before last I got a bald cypress and a chestnut oak for my yard at no charge. All I had to do was be willing to plant them.

Been a few years eh Jim? Around here they do offer trees at a reduced rate,
but nothing free around here anymore.

Jesse, does your local Soil Conservation District have a tree program? When I lived on the farm, mine did. Once a year they had all kinds of trees available--free. From the map in my old, old tree book, it looks like Sassafras albidum is native to southeastern Oklahoma.--------------------------------------------------------------------- To sign-off this list, send email to majordomo@hort.net with the message text UNSUBSCRIBE GARDENCHAT
