Re: H. foetiditus/daphne

These were planted before I paid attention to botanical names. The low
grower is "Rock daphne" low growing, hot pink blooms starting in late
March/April. The one by the pond is maybe Carol Mackie? 5' high by 10-12
wide. This is the one I need to move. It has pale pink blossoms, leaves
green with cream colored edges. I had an evergreen daphne under a hemlock,
but the tree is so large, I hven't seen it in years. I suspect I lost it one
of our hard winters. It was maginally hardy here. With all of this in bloom,
you can smell my garden a block away if the wind's right. Mmmmmmmmm.
