Well, I hope so, Zem. From all the photos I've seen, it's a stunning small palm. I hope I get more than two sprouts out of the 10 seeds I planted, but who knows. The bad part is that with only two sprouts, I get into a mother hen posture and want to nurture them in pots rather than setting them out in the ground, which I'm sure they would like better. Palms tend to have deep tap roots, which are not exactly happy when confined to a pot.

In February, I received seeds from Morocco for a silver cultivar of the European fan palm [Chamaerops humilis v. cecifera]. I planted 10 of them in pots and today noticed that two are now up. Huzzah. I am going to begin paying more attention to the rest of the pots. Here is a link to a picture [not mine] of what the palm looks like when it's 3 or 4 years old.
