Jim, that is a beauty! I don't blame you for going into "mother hen" mode.
I know when the time is right, you'll know it must go into the ground and
finally "grow up" (or down for the taproot.) :>D

In February, I received seeds from Morocco for a silver cultivar of the
European fan palm [Chamaerops humilis v. cecifera]. I planted 10 of
them in pots and today noticed that two are now up. Huzzah. I am going
to begin paying more attention to the rest of the pots. Here is a link
to a picture [not mine] of what the palm looks like when it's 3 or 4
years old.
