Welcome Sue- always good to have a new voice and ideas. So are you at the Toronto end of Lake Ontario or closer to the other eastern end?

Hi, New member Sue, Zone 6, I think- I always forget, Upstate NY on Lake Ontario. I'm a wife and mother, with an impending Big 5-0 just prior to Christmas this year. I have several gardens, mostly perennial. Two gardens are primarily shade gardens, receiving perhaps 3 or so hours of direct sunshine per day. One garden is a rock garden with two small water features. One garden is a Forever Wild and two are direct sunlight. One garden is herb/salad. Our property is not overly big, just fairly spread out. I'm also a Lifeguard, a runner, a professional choir member, and attend Mass pretty near daily. I tend to burn the candle at all possible ends. Spring has sprung and our toads have returned to their occupation. :> My bird feeder attracts Cardinals and some larger birds, and many squirrels.
