Speaking of Earth Day -- last Thursday (04/22) four of us volunteered to plant 5 red oaks and 4 Autumn Glory maples at a local elementary school as part of The Home Depot's community involvement program. The ground was so hard it was like digging in concrete. The weekend storms came at just the right time for our new plantings, and the trees look great.

Hi Pam,

   I've been busy with work at the garden center and with worrying about
our area Earth Day event (snowed a little). I had not been checking the Chat 
list daily and had not seen much chat, so got a little worried.

that must hav been the same system that came through here Friday and
overnight Friday night.  Wild indeed.  Daryl has checked in already, but
haven't heard from Zem yet. Usually anything severe we get, they get 12 - 
18 hours later.
