Ok, I've been lurking! I don't really like finger pecking on the
keyboard. Spilt my morning coffee over one this am, so had to switch to
another! Thank goodness my DH is a computer specialist and has a whole
room full of computers!
I just have way too much going on! I still have some plants that I
bought in the spring sitting in their pots! To be fair to myself, I
have to say that I've been adding to, revamping, and building new beds.
Some are even mulched! My son showed me a picture in Fine Gardening
this evening of a garden with stone paths and beautiful archways! He
suggested that my garden should look like that! Of course it had a
change in elevation to add interest as well! I plan on putting stone on
my paths someday and I'd love to create some sort of illusion of
elevation. I'll have to give that some thought!
My daylilies have given me a lot of pleasure this summer. You'll find
me outside, in my nightgown, checking out what's blooming each morning!
I've even tried my hand at hybridizing and I'm anxiously watching those
seed pods form! I'm digging out my old "unknowns" and replacing them
with good performers. ( Yet, I've kept more than a few sentimental
favorites!) Also, I'm keeping a photographic record of my garden. I
will work on the databases for each garden "room" in the winter when I
have more time. Also, I'm taking photographs that I plan to submit to a
few daylily publications. I'm writing a second article as well for our
And, then there's my house which we're still trying to get back in shape
so that we can move in ASAP! And, at school, the new furnishings that
I ordered with a $7,000 grant are arriving! I've already spent one day
there trying to organize things. My 21 year old son helped assemble
furniture that needed it. Only half of what I ordered has arrived.
Company's arriving tomorrow! .........
