Too bad you're not closer. There's a big District 'Petite' show this
weekend. I'm not running this one - will just have a few entries - and don't really
know how good it is going to be. Lots of folks just don't seem to get the
concept of scale. My club ran a workshop on miniature table arrangements on
Monday. The people who came seemed to enjoy it, but they had brought things like
demitasse cups for an 8" table.
We love our little shows because they are easy to put on, and yet elegant,
like a jewel box display. No hauling of heavy props and huge buckets of
horticulture. I can take two or three arrangements in a shoebox, and quite a bit of
horticulture in a pint jar. We're planning a really fun one in October - based
on "From ghosties and ghoulies and long-legged beasties and things that go
bump in the night, Good Lord deliver us." Halloween, of course. Auralie
