Oh, sorry...no - he was SAVING them. He would come home with a pillow
case that was dumped out there. Or worse, one lone kitten clinging to a
stump out in the swamp trying to survive and screaming its head off, or
a puppy that was skin and bones hiding and trying to avoid being eaten
by a gater. He told me that he would never get used to that...as long as
he was a swamp ranger...that people would be so cruel.

I agree with you wholeheartedly, but from your description I couldn't tell
if the ranger was a good or bad guy. Was he saving dumped animals by
bringing them home or collecting stray animals to take to work?
