And that's the irksome thing. They have some grid that they put in the
number of patients on a particular unit then read across to see what number
of RN, LPN & CNA bodies to staff that unit that night. I work ortho-neuro
(bone & brain surgeries, mostly knee, hip, back injuries). For whatever
reason (it's a mystery to me) these folks need fewer nurses to provide care
than other surgeries or the medical oncology unit. I just want to get my
work done in a reasonable amount of time and be able to document during my
shift, rather than when it's time to go home.
