Re: Catchup/ Symposiums

I have enjoyed many of Burrel's articles and books; he's an excellent
writer. However, at one time I was so fed up with a series of his columns
that I wrote a letter of complaint to Horticulture. When the magazine first
started doing those zone pieces - what's blooming in New England, the
Pacific Northwest, etc., they assigned the Midwest to Burrell because he was
living in Minnesota. Unfortunately, he had just moved there from Virginia
and half his column each time was used to lament the differences between the
two areas and how much better it had been in VA. He was such a jerk about
it. Eventually he left MN and the Midwest was given to another writer.
