We had such a long bout of cool weather that the Colchicum are already
coming up.  My earliest, in Sep, is C. aggripinum, a very delicate,
well-chequered bloom, but it is in full bloom now.  Others are in bloom,
some just coming up.  These are all way ahead of schedule.  Some of the
later bloomers already have their noses poking at the soil surface.  Strange
year.
