It occurs to me that I have collected something else. Office supplies.
From the time I got my first computer 10 years ago I began collecting
all sorts of paper and equipment. Paper Direct sample kits, Avery
mailers, stationery, business cards, designer gift cards, make your own
gift bags, Paper from statement size to ledger size from 20# to
cardstock and posterboard in all sorts of colors and styles, CD labels
and jewelcase inserts, boxes of envelopes in every size. Copy machine,
scanner, cooltouch laminator, binding machine, brother laminated
labelmaker computer printer, drawing board, full size papercutter, book
stapler. Every kind of pen and marker in all sorts of colors, clips,
gluesticks, colored staples. I don't know why, I just love this stuff.
It's all pretty well sorted and organized and stored.

I don't collect anything, really. Guess being born in a military
family with frequent moves, I learned that accumulations meant LOTS
of work at moving time. DH collects wooden boxes, but they have to be
really special, now that we are running out of shelf space. Of
course, after the Garden Railroad Convention, he'll probably start
with trains! We had a wonderful time, even if it turned out shorter
than anticipated (he had to fly to CA on business). It was great to
finally meet Donna (and John) - first of my internet friends I've met
in person. (Jim - I'll be in Orlando the week before Christmas. Want
to try again??) Felt guilty about enjoying myself, while she worked
so hard with convention duties, but her efforts and that of the rest
of the organizers paid off in one of the smoothest running I've been
to - including those run by professionals. We now have a train in
boxes in the family room and are waiting on track delivery, then
negotiation on location begins (it moves closer to the house every
time we talk).
Don't know where he is going to find time to put it up... Life is
nothing if not interesting!
