I went to the extension office to dig colchicum for our sale. I had
planted them 3 yrs ago in a sunny protected spot. This spring I noticed
large amounts of leaves had been piled on them and I don't know how long
they were like that. They'sd sprouted their big long leaves in the dark
of the stack and when I pulled it off the white/yellow leaves didn't
have a very good time of it. Also, the area had grown quite shady over
that time. I dug out 2. They hadn't multiplied and were smaller than
when I'd planted them. Meanwhile the buzzing wouldn't stop. I realized I
was in the middle of a ehole bunch of bees. I decided they just weren't
worth it.
So I went over to check the nursery, thought I'd deadhead some things.
Noticed empty spaces. Just since I was there the evening before, someone
had taken 18 pots. These are plants I've potted, repotted, trimmed,
labeled, watered, fertilized, and moved at least a dozen times since
April. What is wrong with people that they will steal from a Non-profit
organization?
