Re: Drought...

Just to let you know that I too am dragging hoses around. I got excited and fertilized the acre thinking that we would have to get some of the rain that was promised.... It went all around us but none here. UGH...

I was waiting for that storm you had, Donna, but it went South and North of
us. We aren't in a drought situation here, but we usually get one about
this time of year. I will be dragging hoses this weekend in solidarity with
Pam and Cathy. I'm so sorry you two have to go through this thirsty time.

Blessings,
Bonnie (SW OH - zone 5)

That is very scary Cathy. You would think the nearby rains would have at
least kept the creek flowing.

Did you get any rains yesterday? We got the downpours, then nothing senerio
for the last 36 hours or so. Totaled out to a tad over an inch, but most of
it just ran off since it came down so quickly.

Nightmare indeed. My area is not as bad as yours, but our drought is 3
years old, and it is so discouraging to see the rain going north or
south of us, with no more than .1 inch falling here. I am so tired of
hauling water all over 2.5 acres. For the first time in the 9 years
we've lived here, the creek behind our house has ceased to flow.

Oh yes, I'm sure we aren't the only "lucky" souls dealing w/ this
never ending nightmare. I feel so badly for all the ranchers and
farmers. Most people are selling off their stock because they can't
afford to feed and water them. Sad.

The drought must be affecting more than just you, Pam. I just got

I imagine it has hurt some of the nursery business where the drought
has been the worst.
