Re: fire

We kept the house closed up, so it didn't get too bad with the aircleaner running. Luckily we were in no danger from the fires, just had to put up with the smoke. Still a little haze on the horizon, otherwise looks & smells good.

I had and I was thinking of you. I'm glad it is under better control now.
Only once have I been in that situation and we were on vacation in Florida
(though luckily for us, we were on our way out when we encountered the smoke
across the highway.) I do so hope you can get rid of the acrid smell of
smoke in your home. It seems to permeate everything and last for so long.

Blessings,

You may have read about the many fires near here in eastern Washington and
northern Idaho. We had some cooler weather and more humidity yesterday & a
dramatic wind shift today. The smoke is mostly gone & I'm hopeful they're
controlled. The past few days visibility has been 1/2 mile or so, ash
falling and acid smoky smell pervading everything. Tough on folks with
asthma and irritating to healthier people.
Tonight we went for a walk and could see blue sky & rain clouds with just a
bit of smoke to make a beautiful sunset and breathable air. I might be able
to open up the house early in the morning.
