FWIW, common names are issues, so no lecture needed.
But what I have found,
seems common names by area location are not as problematic as using them in
something like this list. If all you are selling to is neighborhood folks,
most grew up knowing that same common name...which doesn't imply that the
'real' name shouldn't also be listed on the tag.

Yes, common names again. When we sold the Kalanchoe I used the
name Devil's
Backbone becuase there were several plants using the Mother of
Thousands
name, including 4 different genera on RHS (though RHS does not
include any
Kalanchoe as one of them)
RHS shows 3 common names for Kalanchoe
diagremontiana :
MEXICAN HAT PLANT; DEVIL'S BACKBONE; FLOPPER
And for
Devil's Backbone they show Kalanchoe diagremontiana and the
previously
mentioned Pedilanthus tithymaloides.
I always try to select a common name
that reduces confusion.
