Re: How important is a phone number?

I had an internet based business a few year ago. I did not list my phone
number, only my address. If they wanted to contact me.. they would email mail
me privately and they could give me THEIR phone number. And I would contact
them. FYI

There are a good number of companies on my catalog list that don't have
phone numbers. I personally think it sends a message of reliability if
you have one, but if your web site has a prominent "Contact Us" page
with your address (both street and email), and you are prompt at
answering email, then not having a phone number shouldn't be a major
problem. I think so, anyway, not being a business owner I might be way
off course.
I don't list a company on my web site if they won't give me a mailing
address. And there are a few of them that won't. That seems very
fly-by-night, but IMO not having a business phone number is
understandable for a small business run out of your home, especially in
these internet days.
