So sorry to hear that Sue. Reporters get lied to and disappointed, too, by their editors, so it's not completely the reporter's fault. However, when the reporter learned of the error, s/he should have contacted you.

Apologies to anyone who went and got the paper to see us. We aren't there! I have no idea what happened-the reporter told us August 26th. We feel embarassed, lied to, and disappointed. I called the reporter and left a voice mail and hope to hear back very soon as to what the heck happened! As soon as we get an explaination I'll let you know.
