Re: OT - kitten news

Yeah. Squinty's like that. She starts yammering about 2 AM, so I give her a few pets to try to shut her up. I've tried ignoring her, but that doesn't work. After a few minutes, she'll start licking my head, and if I try to ignore that, she will start kneading. I, too, thought it was a food bowl problem, but decided it's not. I think it's a boredom problem. I'm going to get her a monkey for a companion and see if that changes things.

What is it about nights and cats? Mine, thoroughly socialized, still
do the same thing - at least two of them do. I have gotten pretty
good at giving them a pet, then falling back to sleep. I used to
think it had something to do with a food dish that had gone below the
requisite level, but no more.

I finally got to pet my new little one last night. It was great
but her
timing stinks. She sidled up to me about 2:30 this morning and let
me pet
her, then climbed up on top of me so I could do a two-handed pet. She
really is very sweet. She's still a little leery in the daytime,
but she's
being more adventurous and affectionate at night. She kept me up
until the
alarm went off. I'll be glad when she gets a little older and starts
sleeping more through the night. Nodded off at my desk today, oops.
