RE: Camera saga

Congrats on the new job. I am sure you will condense your 'stuff'. Why can't you hang your tree branch somewhere in the library?

FWIW, years ago I bought a D100. Although I loved the way it took
pictures, it was just too much to carry around on vacations etc. I
downsized last year and bought a Canon G9. In many instances, the
pictures come out just as well and this one fits in my purse :)

I got a Nikon D300 SLR this summer, but I haven't had time to figure out how
to take a really good picture! I need a tripod or monopod with the lens
that I have. I've been using my Coolpix 8700 all summer for my daylily
photography as I can't afford to fool around when I'm photographing things
for our Daylily Journal.

I'm going to be doing a different job this year at school. After 37 years in
the classroom, I'm taking over the library program! I'm a bit apprehensive
about having to read to 27 groups each week, cataloging books, helping the
kids and staff take out books, working on curriculum ideas for the school,
setting up programs on the computers for kids, etc! On top of all that, I
have to clear out as much of my personal belongings from my classroom as
possible! The job sort of came up suddenly and I'm a bit overwhelmed.
Where will I put my eight file draws full of stuff? Where can I store a
hornet's nest as big as a basketball that is still attached to some tree
branches and hangs in my classroom? I have a large Calder-esque mobile that
I will have to dismantle and store. The list goes on!

What did I get myself into?
