Re: just checking

Well, then I guess we'll have to send Gene packing so she can have the place to herself!

I don't know about anyone else, but when I've been caregiving all I want to
do is be home, in my own house, in my own garden. Don't Make me go away
anywhere. It's too stressful. At home I can cocoon.

All providers of advice for caregivers emphasize that the caregiver NEEDS
time off. It is important for their health. Do you have a friend who
could step in every other day? Dinners could be made in advance so that
wouldn't be a problem. Are there any students still around who would like
to learn more about nursery work? What about someone from your church?
Or
a relative?

You need to send JoAn away for a weekend when you can afford it. A few
days
with HER friends on a shopping trip, spa weekend or what ever she enjoys
doing. You get to stay home. After a year here of 4 surgeries and still
working intense hours it was my only chance of unwinding and keeping my
sanity. A couple of days away helped in so many ways it is hard to
describe.
Your still tired but can continue on with a better attitude about it
all...

Pam,
I am sure JoAn is relieved on many levels.... when I received the
diagnosis last September she took over everything. Driving me to the
hospital every day 5 to 7 days a week for treatments, managing the
nursery,
shipping the works so all I had to do was concentrate on getting well.
So,
she is exhausted from it all. Will be a few more months before I am back
up
to strength, but I am out there now doing what I can when I can... which
is
not a lot.
